MUGEN (Not the Samurai Champloo Character)
M.U.G.E.N is a 2D fighting game engine designed by Elecbyte starting in 1999. Elecbyte distributed beta versions that ran under DOS, Linux, and Windows. The engine allows for anyone to create characters, stages, and other game objects through interpreted text files and graphics and sound compilations, and it also supports MP3 background music during gameplay. The engine is very powerful and flexible, allowing for the same type of functionality found in most any commercial 2D fighting game, such as the Street Fighter games produced by Capcom or the King of Fighters games produced by SNK.

My husband was playing around online and found M.U.G.E.N and is in the process of downloading it, don't worry it is legite to download. I have messed aroung with the engine a bit and it is pretty cool. Like all computer games you can customize the controls to your liking and you can make up your own moves, characters, and fighting style, pretty sweet huh. So far we have a couple of DBZ characters started on MUGEN. I can't wait to actually play it and see what it can do.

So, what are some good versus fights to create?

Looking for game testers
This looks like a good community for this; please let me know if I'm wrong.

I'm developing a game that's mainly inspired by old arcade games like Pac-man and Donkey Kong. The only really new idea is that the controls consist of a single button, which makes for some rather unique gameplay, as you might imagine. There's more information here:

I'm planning to try to sell the game (cheaply) through the web site, but for now I'm looking for people to test a prerelease version. Sort of a semi-open beta test. Basically I give you a free copy of the game, and you play it and tell me what you think of it. There's no real obligation to play it all the way through, or to provide any particular amount of feedback; just do as much as you want. I only ask you to agree not to share the prerelease version with anyone else.

It's for Windows only at the moment; Mac and Linux versions will probably come eventually.

Anyone interested?

Hello there. My name is Davey and I have been playing video games on console and in arcades since I was born (literally, my dad bought NES the year I was born).

I have a question concerning the original Mortal Kombat arcade game from 1992. Many have claimed that the character Ermac (the red ninja) appeared as a glitch in the game that sometimes occurred when fighting Reptile. The most information I have ever found about him is in the Mortal Kombat bible (http://www.mortalkombatbible.com/mkbible.txt). It claims that the only existing proof of him in MK was a picture taken by a guy named Tony Casey, which was published in the October 1993 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly.

My question is: Has anyone seen this picture or have it themselves? If so, I would like to see it.

Dragon's Lair Arcade Laserdisc Player - Auction
I just wanted to post to let everyone know about this auction.

It is for a Sony LDP 1500

The Sony LDP 1500 is the same laserdisc player used in the arcade Dragon's Lair II and Space Ace arcade units. A rare find for people looking to build, restore, or just have a backup player for the vintage arcade units for Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, etc. You can't use any old laserdisc player for Dragon's Lair, but I'm sure most of you know that already.

I thought I'd give the heads up to the auction
